In Revolution: Finding Vibrant Faith Beyond the Walls of the Sanctuary, George Barna identifies what he calls a transformation in the process by which millions of believers are growing in Christ. According to Barna, many of these “revolutionaries” are leaving the local church in an effort to experience purposeful spiritual growth outside the structure and authority of what they consider to be an ineffective model for achieving God’s purposes in contemporary society.
