God’s plan and purpose for us is spiritual maturity, for us to be conformed to the likeness of His Son. We cannot arrive at divine truth by just following a set of rules or suggestions. God is only truly known through the revelation and illumination of the Holy Spirit. We need to distinguish between knowing “about” Him and “knowing Him intimately and experientially”.
