At first, the earth which God created was still dark, desolate, and empty. There was
water everywhere, but nothing else. The Spirit of God floated above this water.
Until the voice of God sounded. He said: “Let there be light!” Immediately there was
light. God saw that the light was good. After this, God separated the light from the
darkness. God called the light day; and the darkness night
